My air box is all beat up, I need to repair to look good. Thinking of adding a cold air intake from after market. Any one have advice. This for a stock 87 C4
If I was still N/A, I'd pick up a cheap used C5/C6 air bridge, run a tube through a hole in the shroud and mount the filter underneath exposed to the cold air. Watch out for deep water, though.
It may take some experimentation to get it to fit, but should be easy enough.
This approach also offers a relatively easy upgrade path to a larger diameter MAF, which would eliminate the two primary intake airflow bottleknecks (the stock airbox neck, and maf itself).
I have (and used to use) the SLP kit linked above. It adds a nice intake howl, but doesn't do too much to improve looks or performance.
