Default Why won't Hooker headers work with AFR heads???

What is different with the AFR angle plug heads that Hooker headers won't work, and will the Hookers work OK with my Dart Pro I angle plug heads.?..WW

Here is what it says on the 2149 and 2151 Hooker headers.. (212 - Does not fit with AFR angle plug heads).

Perhaps because of the "angle plug" part?
The plug angle would interfere with the header tubes?

I have no idea, just a guess.

The Hooker headers should work with the 180 or 195 heads. The exhaust port is raised .100", on those heads which usually isn't a problem, and use a standard L98 spark plug angle. The 210's, 220's 227's and 235's all have a .250" raised exhaust port which could cause some problems with some headers.

I have hookers and they fit fine with the afr 190 c.port. The only diffenences bewteen the 2149 and 2151 hookers are the A.I.R. and EGR provisions. I seem to remember that cylinder heads labled as l98, (even though an angle plug head), were different than others called an angle plug head. As to the dart 1 head, I have no idea.

Dont know, I have AFR heads and Hooker block hugger headers. I also have Trick-Flows on my other engine and the same headers work fine.

Have you called tech support?

I have AFR 1040s (195s) and Hooker 2151s. They line up well with the ports and clear the angle plugs fine.

Pic is my engine with the AFR heads 2151 headers and all the spark plugs and wires installed.

Well I guess this fully answers the question..I wonder why Hooker would say on the site that there headers don't work with AFR angle plug heads when its clear they do?..There definitely losing busness by making this statement.. Thanks WW
