Default Parting Out Question

Dear All,

I was wondering how much I might expect to get parting out a 1987 C4. I am looking for a good way to generate cash for my next C4, and I love this car but since I'm not terribly interested in financing--and the current one being hopelessly in the shop, I wanted to explore this option.

Let me know if you have any ideas or guidance.

Thanks,

Parting a car can be a quick or a very long process. Ask anyone in the business and they will tell you that it all depends on who is looking and where they are located as to how profitable a particular car parting turns out. Of course the car being parted out matters too, how good is the car?

I'm not trying to be a smart alec - but my guess is that if you need to ask this kind of question that you will find out that parting out a car is a pain. And might net you not so much money and leave you with the bulk of the carcass that no one wants.

There was guy a couple months ago who said he made 6800 on his part out. But he didn't say if that was profit or what his totals were!
