Hi all, New to the board nice bunch of people from what ive read!!! I have a 90 vett auto it shifts sometimes to drive hard say from neutral to drive. And sometimes not . And from reverse to drive it shifts smooth it had an overhaul 2000 mile ago anyone have an have a clue why it would shift hard??? Thanks Mark
I have no idea why it shifts hard at times. You are talking about when setting still and going from N to D? If so is your idle ok? By the way welcome to the forum!!
I'd guess a little trash (and it doesn't take much) has passed thru the valve body and some of the valves may be sticking. Also the govenor could be sticking. I have the 700R4 in my blazer and after a rebuild it took me forever to get all the trash out of the system, and let me tell you one thing it caused all kinds of havok. My vette also has a 700R4 and i've had no problems thank goodness. :flag
When you say sometimes is sometimes when its at normal operating temp or when its cold. Remember you need compare apples to apples, because its normal to feel a difference between a cold transmisson and one at normal temp.
