Default X pipe size question

I am going to buy a Magnaflow X-pipe to replace my resonator on my 93 LT1. And my question is. Do I need a 3" x-pipe or a 2.5" x-pipe? BTW they dont offer a 2.75 X-pipe.

I would go 3 inch because the stock is 2.75in and having it bigger will prevent the x-pipe from being the "restrictive" spot in your exhaust compared to the 2.5in which would be smaller and more restrictive. Thats my $.02

I was going to order that size anyways. I was just seeing if anybody had a counter point about the bigger size. Thanks.

BTW how did the 2.5 xpipe match up with the rest of the exhaust. Did you have to do a ton of fabricating?
