OK, I have a Gen 7 with thier dual sync billet dist. I have replaced 2 ecms and have had the 2nd dual sync dist crap out 1/2 way between SLC, ut. and Wendover, NV. That is 100 miles of salt flats. The ecm is giving me a 72 error code. The question is how many out there are having the same kind of reliability problems, this is getting to be a real pain in the *** as well as being expensive and then there is the dreaded two week turn around. If I did'nt have so much money in this crap system I would change. The crap lasts about 1 1/2 years then crap out. I guess the only other solution is drive around with an extra set of everything with the name Accel one it.
Anyway anyone with direct knowledge please join in.....
I got stranded with my first Dual sync on my LT4 about 2k kms after the build up. It was a very old firmware/hardware version. I had it replaced and ran fine until my motor blew up. The shoppe still believes the dual sync was so screwy that it caused the catastrophe. I plan to buy a most recent firmware/update dual sync when I ready to roll with the new motor. Sucks to hear you had issues too but there are lots of people that have had great success with them. Leads me to believe there may be something else causing the problems.
I had one fail on my LT 4 and I put the OEM back on and it started banging out again !
I just got the 6.1 upgrade and for some reason it's purring again !
The engine is heavily modded .
The Generation 7 may indeed be sensitive . A computer guy told me not to use cheap Chinese wire and aluminum connectors !
He said use only quality silver ! I got some at Radio Shack !
Another bonus with the upgrade is the USB power key can be used with any windows application.
I'm running the Valves right now and testing the spring height and haven't had time to play with it.
