Default Water Pump

I was told that this is the short water pump but it is bigger than 5 1/4... If i purchase this it should work right?

It looks like it might be a long one. A C4 needs reverse rotation if you're going serpentine. You can buy one at Pep Boys or Autozone or whatever for less than that.

There are short, long,reverse rotation(88-up non vettes), & corvette(84-up). Get the right one by application.

Sorry guys... I failed to mention i would be purchasing an older pump do to deleting the A/C and air pump...

also if i was to do this conversion can i get alway with a cast, or should i purchase an aluminum pump?

I don't see why a cast one wouldn't work, it will be heavier and I would think allum. transfers heat better.
The thread I started that you are looking at, brought up some points on pumps. It appears as though the corvette specific pump doesn't exactly measure the same as a short pump or long pump. The one I have (std rotation) is a Stewart pump pn. emp-23103 and according to them measures 5.795" Length.

Found an aluminum Weiand 9208P pump i can use. It is going to be like 5.6 something but can shim it out to align it. Thanks a lot for the help. Now on to the next issue...

How does that work deleting the A/C since the belt needs that do to the tensioner?

I would get aluminum. Cast Iron will rust just like the water pump on my Firebird.
