Default ride control switch

im not sure what the correct name is , but the ride control switch doesnt seem to make any difference, no matter what setting i use. im waiting on my fsm to arrive, but is there anything i should check in the meantime?

I don't know where to suggest, maybe some info here: http://www.zr1netregistry.com/sixsteps.htm

If you do a search in this forum for FX3 and selective ride control you will find LOTS of posts, several with good diagnostics that can be done without special tools. Of course a lot of the posts you will find will be from budget oriented owners seeking inexpensive regular shocks. Keep in mind that Bilstein does offer a rebuilding and revalving service for FX3 shocks - they even have an autocross spec revalving.

How fast are you driving? And are you going mostly in a straight line, or more serious corner carving? Silly questions, but sometimes I have found guys with expectations that they just flip a switch and everything tightens up in regular driving - my FX3 needs speed and corners to really show off the differences in settings.

thanks for the link! im driving mostly straight, but i was thinking that there would be a more pronounced feel when driving on a rougher road
which i have to drive on every day. sport,tour, or performance all seem to feel the same on my backwoods road!

On a rough road I would probably leave it on "Tour." I can't remember for sure, but I believe the FX3 uses steering angle + speed as a proxy for yaw to decide where it wants each shock valve opening. So, it needs corners to be most apparent. When I am driving canyon roads ~ 70 mph I really notice a difference in the settings - at lower speeds not so much.

The system does a self-check everytime time you start up. If your not getting "service-ride-control, everything shud be ok. There are actuators on the top of each shock.

I seem to remember ....if you turn the ignition "on" three times without moving the car you will get a "SRC". The internal condition of the shocks is something else.
