I just bought front and rear HAL QA1 shocks for my '94 LT1. Rears go on fine but there is a problem with the fronts. The holes in my front shock towers are 0.875" diameter but the nipple on the poly bushing included with the QA1 shocks is only 0.610" outside diameter - so I have over 1/4" slop if I use their poly bushings. Can't use the poly bushings that I used on my Bilsteins because the Bilstein shaft is larger diameter than the QA1 shaft, so this would just be shifting the problem from the shock tower hole to the bushing hole, which would eventually wallow out the bushing.
QA1 says they have never heard of this so either I have a very strange Vette or they haven't sold many of their shocks for C4's. I AutoX my Vette and either have to get a fix for the problem or send the shocks back.
I assumed the C4 shocks were designed for it but from what you are indicating this is apparently not the case. Did you experience any problem similar to mine when you installed your front shocks?
Also, please let me know whether or not you like these shocks while I still have the opportunity to send them back.
