96 OBDII software
I have a OBDII scanner but the data storage is primative and it only takes 6 random points (plus the computer software isnt good at all). I am looking for some free software that will save real-time data and show it in graphs, tables, etc on my laptop.

What do you want to monitor? I design products for people and have implemented most vehicle networks. In some of our work we have to research (reverse engineer) some vehicle messages and thus I generally forward all OBDII messages to a PC, where they are captured in real time and saved in comma delimited ascii hex. In other words, you can such the captured files into excel, create your conversion forumulas, and plot them using the excel wizard. Now you may be looking for some real time plotting, but I am far too busy right now to do that stuff, although I want it also for other reasons. The only problem with this approach is you have to know the structure and content of the messages to be able to do the conversions, which may be a bit unrealistic relative to what you are look for. So I can get the stuff out, but someone needs to tell me the data they are looking for, and then determine the messages needed to get it. I would kind of like to do some of this for myself if I can find the time, so if you help educate me on what people want and I can locate the data, perhaps I can get it to a file for you.
