I went to the strip yesterday, on the second run the gas pedal broke and is just hanging there. there is a small piece of plastic on the floor . i have not had time to look at it yet.where do i go to get parts and is it hard to fix . Thanks
I've had mine break too. The pivot base is plastic.
Simple swap. Simply unbolt from floorboard, I think two 10mm nuts. Then unclip throttle cable from the top of and pull it out.
You can't buy just the plastic base. Have to replace as a whole unit. I ordered mine form Zip Corvette. This is not something available at local parts stores.
I remember people here buying aftermarket metal bases from some vendor.
You can try glueing it with epoxy or something like that. I did this and it didn't hold up. I replaced it with another stock pedal.
He may still have contact information for the widow of VettMike,
the CF member who produced an aluminum replacement pedal
bracket that was sold by past forum sponsor, R-D Racing.
Some remaining inventory, c/w instructions could still be available.
I recommend the OEM for a perfect fit but if you(or anyone else) are the do-it-yourself type, I have a steel, welded and fabricated pedal for an LT1 that you can have for free(just pay shipping.) It needs some minor filing and fit to work well. I lost patience and needed to get on the road.
Still looking for a pedal. I was told 92-96 are the same.I have checked with most of the larger venders- none have them . I went to the local dealer he said it was discontinued. Would like to get a stock one that needs no modification.
Thanks for all replys
I am replacing my power brake booster and while having fun on my back under the dash (if you've replaced your booster you'll know what I mean) noticed my accelerator pedal is loose. It isn't broken (at least not yet). Are they normally loose or is this a sign of "about to break"?
