I had to go to La this weekend. Whats funny about this is when you are in Beverly Hills, every other car is a bmw, mercedes, etc.. You see a rolls, lambo a good amount of the time too. I never got so many points and stares as when I drove my 92 vette down santa monica blvd and sunset. Makes me love it even more! Now to problem. On the way back to phoenix this vibration or shudder started happening when I floored it.A couple of times Id let off the gas and it would stop but I knew I was on a rough patch of freeway and went on. I noticed it a few more times. All gauges showed everything fine. Not running hot, oil press fine, no lights on, nothing! Am I making something up in my head or does anyone have any ideas. Its a automatic with about 65000 miles on it. When I got it good grief it needed everything under the sun done to it which I did. What I want to do now is cosmetic. The carpet on drivers side is worn especially on speaker cover. When IVe looked at these cars online no matter how low miles or how great they look that carpet always seems to go. It has a few places on the paint and road chips that need attention. Mechanically as I said Ive done alot to it but thats just part of owning a older vette! Thanks for any ideas or just tell me Im making things up in my head!
Not sure on the vibration when you floor it - does it matter what rpm's? Because if the vibration only happens at high revs maybe you are having an ignition misfire or a bad injector.
Now, about those people staring and pointing as you drive along Sunset and Sant Monica Blvd: if these are people walking or hanging out on the sidewalk don't stop. They really don't care about your car - they are hoping you are a buyer.
