Mine are all scraped off, but the orange lines you see from the outside of the glass remain, I don't think they come off. They came off when I took tint off with a razorblade.
Anyone know a good way to remove the metal strips, short of replacing the glass?
If it can't be done no biggie, just thought I'd ask before adding tint to the hatch glass.
I'm trying to do this on a 1989.
I have had 5% tint on my rear window for 10 years with the rear window heater still in place and it works fine. Tint did not Delaminated at all. I had my professionally done. I still use it every once and a while. (1992)

Yeah, mine has tint on the hatch as well. So far it hasn't bubbled sitting outside all the time.
I not worried about what might happen to the tint, as I never use the rear defogger. In fact I can't use it because I removed the wiring that used to power it.
I would like to try and remove the metal strips if it can be done without changing the hatch glass to a non defogger piece.
