Who makes or has the best kits (parts) for a 450hp tranny rebuild. What is necesary to have for this HP? I will be running a 2800 stall and 2:59 and eventualy 3:07 gears with little to no track usage i.e. 1/4 mi. usage.I would like a kit already assembled if possible.

NEXT QUESTION: Is there any tranny guys out there who do side work after hrs? That come recomended? PETE no longer does this I ask him awhile back? I would prefere someone in the IN. MI. OH. area so I could deliver, thanks.

I'd check with Dana of Probuilt Automatics in CA. I'm going to have them do my tranny. He has a dvd you can buy to help you rebuild yours and he has all the parts in different kits depending on your hp level. I'm going to have him build me one that will hold 850 hp eventually once I get the funds.

Stall seems high for 3.07 street car and I would love to hear what a 2800 TC does w/2.59 gears.

You never specified a year, so for a 4l60e, send it off to get rebuilt or like qwiketz says and get a custom buit one.

For a 700r4, contact a local chevy car club and ask them, that is your best bet and just remember to adjust your TV cable when you get it back.

Default 2800 stall?

Why does 2800 stall seem high? I thought 2800 was on the conservative side. Not sure what stock stall is but most guys I have talked with say the 2800 is very streetable. Is anyone out that have any experience with this setup?
The main reason I was going with 3:07's is that I think that is all the taller gear my carrier will fit ? Dana 36 with automatic "stock"

Stock stall converter is 1800, I have 2300 and mine car is almost stock.
Talk to PeteK, he knows better than me, but mine shifts hard and works great for me, but I am not looking for a stoplight warrior or a track car.

2800 is what comp cams recomended is the only reason I was going with that.

What brand are you using? How many miles have you put on it and would you buy it again?

I ran a 3200 stall in my 66 big block and did not enjoy it. Gas milage was minimal before the stall and nothing with it. But after feeling the car slam into gear every time I shifted out of Park, it was needed. I used a B&M Hole Shot and it stood up to 550+ with no issues. I put @20K miles on it before pulling the car apart for some TLC. Of course this was not on a 700R4 but on a TH400.

Milage would be the biggest thing you will lose. But coming out of the hole.......Nice!
