Ok, I've come to the conclusion that my current headlights in my 87 are pretty much done. I've considered buying those Sylvania Halogen "Cool Blue" replacement sealed beam type's, but I've been kinda interested in getting a H4 conversion kit, and putting in some nice white(blue) bulbs. I seen on Ebay, a place called ProStreetLighting (www.prostreetlighting.com)
I've also seen that LAPD sells a kit with the Hella Glass Lamps for around $130. I was kinda looking to stay under $100 with this project.
Also, I've seen white(blue) bulbs that are direct replacements for the parking bulbs (1157). Anyone tried these in place of the parking bulbs? Thanks!!
That kit from LAPD I have gives you 2 sets of bulbs. So you have a spare set if one of the other ones go. There is a 'clear' set that comes with the Hellas, and they also send you the brighter APC bulbs which have the blueish tinting to them.
btw... I bought foglights from prostreetlighting before and they melted in one nights use. :(
yikes! But have you tried putting different bulbs in the parking lamps? I think I'm going to try it tonight.
Is there ANY other place I can get the conversion kit for cheaper than $130?
Will this summit kit work? I've heard other people used it, with a different H4 bulb though.

"200 mm, rectangular, headlamp conversion kit. This Hella Vision Plus headlamp conversion kit will give you a 50 percent more powerful low beam and a 25 percent more powerful high beam for better nighttime vision. That means reduced driver fatigue and safer night driving. This SAE and D.O.T. approved conversion installs easily in minutes and comes with a replaceable halogen H-4 bulb. Sold as a kit."
I'd imagine that this would be an actual KIT for BOTH lights.
I have had the prostreetlighting kit in my Corvette for about 7 months now and love it. I have no complaints at all and it is sooooo much better than the stock setup.
