Default 1984 vette electrical problems, need advice

I am having electical problems with the 1984 vette I recently purchased. The radio, interior lights, cigarette lighter, buzzer when the driver door is opened, all of these worked and now none of them work. Could it be a relay or a bad ground? I checked the battery cables and they are on tight. Thanks! Jon

On my 87 the ctsy/clk 15 amp fuse powers all the devices you mentioned. Use an ohmeter to check your fuses.

Default fuses checked

I checked the fuses with an ohmeter and they checked out fine. Is there a relay for the radio, interior lights, and cigarette lighter? Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it

I have read that 84 was known for bad harness. I repaired 20-30 electrical problems on each of my 2 84 Vettes.
Best advise- buy manufacturers manual for 84, which I have and can sell (2 books). Send PM if interested.

so you aren't missing any fuses? i had the reverse problem, my interior lights wouldn't shut off so i pulled them all out but one, before i just pulled the fuse out so i didn't have to worry about it, but found out that the horn is connected to it lol, but the reason was my sensor was missing on my drivers door

try checking for jammed door sensors, and yours might have a bad harness as stated above, or miss wiring

There is a 3amp fuse that causes crazy things to happen when it is blown.......things still work...they just don't work right...

Nope, no relay. The 15 amp fuse has power on it all the time. First measure the voltage on both sides of the fuse to be sure the fuse clip is making connection to the fuse. Next, the wire from the fuse goes to a large splice in the wiring harness to which about 12 devices get their 12v power. Check the quality of this splice!
