Oooooooooooo........possessed. Just how eager WAS the PO to get rid of this car???

I'm thinking that all it would take would be a grain of sand caught somewhere to keep the FPR open and dumping pressure.

When you replaced the filter most recently, did you try to blow it out or drain it to see what it caught?

I would run the snot out of it while its running. How does it idle?

I didnt see a post telling you about that VATS wire you found clamped together. Someone must have matched the "pellet" resistance and wired in a resistor of the value of the pellet in the circuit. You do not want to lose that resistor. (unless you have the original key with the pellet. another thing i found was someone cut the starter soleniod wire and bypassed it up under the dash (bypass the VAT started relay) so be aware of that.

The two vats wires had the pellet from the key clamped to them. I have sense put a new Vats lock cylinder and key with pellet in it.

I was a little hesitant to drive it to work today but it stared right up this morning so I drove it with no issues.
