Default throttle/accelerator cable needed

I need an accelerator cable for our 95 C4 LT1-P. GM part number 12553402 discontinued. Cable is from the throttle body, across the top of the fuel rail cover to the slack adjuster.

Any aftermarket or old new stock?

PS. How do I change this cable? I can't quite figure out how the cable is attached inside the connector at the slack adjuster/ASB end.

Thanks!
Jim

I was just talking to Toptechx6 about this and we think the only place is a junkyard or Ecklers or maybe mid America.
Can't help you w/how to change, but search for someone w/94 and see if they have a FSM.
You should get one, it has everything you need to diagnose, fix your car, well almost everything.

No luck at Ecklers, Mid America has 1996 LT5 version for around $85. Cable is listed as "Control to Throttle Body". Anybody know the difference between a 1996 LT5 and a 1995 LT1? If the LT5 cable is simply longer or even a little shorter, I might be in business. Anybody?
Thanks

Control to throttle, is the cable from ASR to Throttle and won't work.
You need the one from the pedal to the ASR, right?

If the cable itself is broken and the covering is good, you should be able to fashion a new cable, you would have to have the exact length of the original cable and the size and type of connectors on each end.

No, it is the cable between the throttle body and the ASR that I need. I shouldn't have called it an accelerator cable, throttle cable describes it better. Contemporary Corvette had a used one. Removal/install is simple. Remove the ASR cover, then the ASR pulley cover. The cable is clipped into the ASR pulley houseing, hold the safety tang back on the cable clip and slide it out of the houseing. Same for the throttle body end. Pop the retaining clip off the cable at the throttle body.

Cable wasn't broken completely, just one little fray on the throttle body end where it enters the shield. Discovered it after the throttle stuck open several times... (holy Toyota! I've got the worlds fastest Prius! was my first thought) One end of a frayed wire would enter the shielding and prevent the cable from extending when we let our foot off the pedal.

I would double check your part number, the one I find between throttle body and ASR servo for a 95 is 10241101. If you enter it in the search area here;

http://www.whiteracingproducts.com/i...ain_page=index

They indicate it is available and is the same for the ZR1,
Hint: bring money.

I checked with 2 dealers... both had the 12553402 number (discontinued)... I asked if an LT5 cable would work and they said no, that's a 2 cable system with assembly # 10163845... (not to say that 1 of the 2 cables is a 12553402)

Ron at Contemporary verified that he'd make sure it came out of a 95 LT1.

You are right, I looked it up and then posted the wrong number, should have been; 10163845, sorry. MY parts CD indicates it is the same for LT5 and LT1.
