Just go to NAPA, other parts stores in your area or Summit/Jegs and order Fel-Pro valve seals for your 1986 CORVETTE. Then make sure that you get intake seals all the way around instead of intake/exhaust seals. The intake seal is much better, more costly, but will do the job well. The standard cheap exhaust seal is a simple plastic umbrella. Look at them online and you can see the difference.

that's what i did, except for my 85 (should be the same as an 86E).

I just replaced the valve seals on my 89 yesterday and used the Fel-Pro brand. IF I had known about the two different materials (intake rubber w/retainer rings & exhaust plastic body w/rubber insert) I would have ordered two sets of intakes. The NAPA store would not take the exhaust back because they had to special order them, but I can't understand why with the heat of the exhaust valve, Fel-Pro would make that one plastic and the intake rubber. Also the Fel-Pro sets come with the small rubber "O" ring seal on the top of the valve, so now each valve has two seal on it instead of the factory setup.
