Id put the rear Y in the pic too, but it is still kinda rough looking.
I bought all this from a forum member, lightly used, the front Y had never been installed however. It all had some scratches and scrapes on the factory BBQ paint.
Today I took it all outside and cleaned everything with some purple power and steel wool, and hit it with 2 coats of VHT 2,000 degree black. Then masked the tips and hit them with a coat of VHT metallic Silver, has a polished stainless look to it.
But its TPIS front and rear Y pipes, a gutted cat, and TPIS spec'd Flowmasters.
I dont know what "series" the mufflers are...just that they are flowmaster.
Not a bad deal for 400+ S&H....USPS beat the sh *t out of the box the front Y and mufflers was in, had to re-round the slip fit end of the front Y on one leg of it.
You can do that. Just flatten the pipe a little before you weld it. I think both ends of the factory cat are oval aren't they? You could round the front flange with a carbide burr and then just oval the back half of your pipe. You could oval the 3" pipe and then hammer it through your factory cat to give that factory appearance. You could grind to make it fit as necessary. If the fit isn't super tight you could weld the ends in.
