Engine light on a no codes
I tried to check the engine light code because it will be on for awhile and then go off and the car runs good and overdrive works great. I hooked up scanner and no codes,. I did the paper clip and the light will not blink. Could this be a bad ECM? If so how could I try to resest it first before buying one?

For what it is worth I have a 1990 which throws no codes but the service engine light comes on if I am traveling the freeway for about 15-20 miles at around 70 mph. The previous owner called me two weeks after I had bought the car to mention it and also told me to check his receipts from the dealership for the 3 time he brought it in to have it checked. Verdict each time was either they could not find a code or they could not duplicate. I am sure someone knows more about this than me but I think it is some sensor on the exhaust that just does not pick up a signal during constant speed
