'92 Steering column slop
I'm thinking of buying a '92 Corvette out of an estate. The steering column has slop in it, moving down and to the left. I understand this is common and probably caused from using the steering wheel to help get out of the car with the very low seat position. I also hear that parts to fix this have been discontinued from GM. Has anyone repaired this problem and if so, how difficult is it and where do I get the parts/kits I need? Are there any other parts I should replace while I'm in there? I'm sure the column will need to come out of the car, right? I'm in the St. Louis area, know of any shops that can do this?
