I have a problem. Appearantly, whoever had my car before put on a smaller crank pulley, larger water pump pulley, and a larger alternator pulley to get a few more horses. I want to go back to stock pulleys, but after talking to the local dealer I found out that the pulleys are discontinued. I know I can buy them from one of our corvette parts companies or ebay, but I thought I would try here first to see if anyone would be interested in a swap or a cheap purchase. The stock pulleys were only used on 85 to 91 vettes. I was hoping that it was a standard so I could head to the local junk yard, but not the case.
I had an alternator guy put a standard pulley on for me, but now my belt is too long. To get it right, I need a stock water pump pulley (part# 10105209) and a stock crank pulley (part# 14055116).

When you go from under size crank set to standard set, you are going to have to go to a different length belt even if you change back to the full stock set.
You might go on the parts for sale forum and offer a full swap.
Different size belts are pretty easy to get. They come in approx 1/2" increment sizes. After you get your pulleys, see approximately how much shorter or longer a belt you need and buy that size and one longer and one shorter. Return the ones you don't use.
They are steel, but they have been painted silver (kinda weird). I have already purchased a stock set from a salvage yard. HlhnEast, if you want my old set of pulleys I would be willing to sell them to you and mail them to you rather than drive that far.
I had an underdrive kit on my 90 GTA, and that thing would idle for an hour in 100 degree weather, and not heat up past 212. I really dont think its the pulleys. What kind of temps are we talking about. Its not uncommon for Corvettes to run between 220-230. h
not sure why its over heating, but the pulleys have been changed, I would like to know what the original sizes were, also the front air dam has been ripped off, the two factors might be the problem.
this is a new car to me. not three years

This post is. It's better to start your own new one so people won't have to read through old achived posts.

I have a full set of stock pulleys from my 91 that I will sell reasonably.
Oklahoma - have you cleaned out the trash bags, leaves and the Texas armadillo carcass that are probably clogging your radiator? The C4 is a bottom sucker which causes junk to lodge between the radiator and the AC condenser. You can remove the air cleaner assembly and the cover over that space and easily clean out the crud. Here is a pic of the 87 I used to own and the junk I found in there. Shortly after cleaning it out I got stuck on I94 near Gary, Indiana and had to idle in 96* humidity for over 2 hours with no overheating

thanks, but we have a new rad, new condenser, new water pump etc, we plugged the egr valve, that seemed to help, but I would like to know the sizes of the original pulleys
Just measured the pulleys from my 87. Crank pulley is 7 9/16", water pump 5 5/8", alternator 2 7/16". These are just sitting in a box as I installed underdrive pulleys this past winter. These measurements are from the outer lip and not the actual surface the belt rides on.
