Is the red paint or powder coat?

I don't know for sure, but I believe it's powder coat.
It's very durable though.

Its powder coat. If you are painting an LT1 intake the Ford red engine enamel is a dead ringer.

eastwood sells the factory correct GM LT4 red powdercoat. you have to call and ask for it but they have it. It's a 25% gloss mix. I used it on mine and it looked perfect.

The FORD red will slow the air flow down.

If you spray that color on a Corvette it will start to eat away at the intake and then move to the heads and eventually the whole car will decentigrade(sp?) into nothing.

I did a color change of the manifold, to match the accent color that is being used on the car. Here is the process in photographs, in my facebook page.

Click on this link, and then go to page 6 to see the manifold stuff. It turned out really nice in blue.
