Default Water connection on 89

What is the reason GM put the water connection at the right rear of the TPI intake manifold of the 89 Vette? I want to do the LT-1 intake mod but it will not have that attachment so I'd like to know if it will cause any harm or problems? I know some other Vettes have had this intake manifold swap, but were any done on years that had this hose connection, and if so, what did you do about it??

When I did the LT1 intake on my 89, I just drilled and tapped the back of the LT1 intake and put these connectors in.

All they do is prevent air from getting trapped in the rear of the head. If you follow that hose, it just dumps back into the heater hose. You don't have to have them, but why not?

I run a Mini-Ram now and I just left them off.

It's there for you to burn your arm on when adjusting spark plug wires or anything else after the car's been running! Seriously, many bad words came out of my mouth because of that stupid little tube!

But the real reason it's there is to supply a sufficient amount of coolant at the rear of the heads which on the Vette, uses a restriction to keep coolant there longer. There's no steam - or air - or anything else in that hose - or if there is, you Cooling system needs some attention. To eliminate it, you need to eliminate the restriction, which you can do by getting some F Body intake gaskets which doesn't use this setup.
