I know the benefits of reducing drag on your engine so my question is how much gain does the electric water pump give an LT1? Does the car cool better or worse and what sort of durability do they have? Is one going to beable to handle daily driving or is it just for drag? Thanx Guyz  :D
I've been running one on my daily driver for about 13k miles without any troubles. They are perfectly fine for street use. My car has stayed a good deal cooler with the pump, but that's because of the 160 thermostat and reprogrammed computer I installed at the same time.
Vs. A stock pump I'd say you're cooling effects should be sufficient on top end while at idle it will be a good deal better. The steady coolant flow seems to be more than adequate for street driving.
Since I've installed it and the thermostat and fans my coolant temps have never got about 200. At the track sitting in the staging lanes it stays right around 180, same holds for in traffic. It might get up to around 190 on a really hot day. No matter how bad I thrash it on the street or at the strip I've never seen the coolant temps fluctuate more than just a few degrees.
