Quick, easy question
Got rid of the original 122765, and replaced it with a 16198259.
PROM # is BUA 1728. The car is stock. Original ECM was defective. Maybe the PROM, too. I don't know how to tell.
Any help is much appreciated.

The 8259 is the OEM replacement for the 165; I believe some of the 165 boards were bad. Functions exactly the same. Uses the same MemCal and EPROM.
The BUA is a Vette BIN; L98 auto trans 3.07 axle; you'd want to order GM part # 01227944 for a new MemCal; about $36 from 18carfan (Jeff Kopp).
You might benefit from a new ESC module, too (the 4-wire one next to the w/w washer bottle, not the distributor module). GM changed them over the years, too.

The ECM I got from GM was defective. Replaced it again, and the car runs great, but I'm still getting a code 33. The only part in that process I haven't replaced is the MAF unit.
Looking for a reasonable source for one of those as well.
Any info is appreciated.

Jeff is the parts manager. IIRC, the ECM exchange is only about ~$100...Lemme check quick...It runs ~$110, with a $75 core charge, from GM...AC Delco refurb...NAPA was ~$100 w/$75 core...That's for the 16198259...
You'd have to ask if they accept the 165 as core for the 8259...
