Started to put on the new meats a while ago and found that there is no key for the wheel lock nut. The manual says GM does not keep these on record and I didn't see the card anywhere. How do I get this nut off without destroying it? All help is appreciated. :chevy :cry
When I LOST my lugnut key, I had to have mine chisled off. Or you can take a socket that is a little to small to fit around the lugnut and hammer it on and then you should be able to take it off using a socket wrench. Or you can get one of those sockets that are universal that have pins inside the opening and try to get lucky and have it line up right. Hope this helps.
Your local tire store should have a tool to break them off. Your not the first person to have this problem. May cost you a couple bucks but it won't hurt your rims.

Re: Wheel Lock Key? (Too Slow '90)
When I bought my Vette the original owner had lost the key. I took the car to the local Chevy dealer. He had their shop use some "general" GM key that was close enough to remove it. Cost me $40 to have all of them removed. Didn't make a scratch on any of the wheels. Makes you wonder how worthwhile they really are.
I had the same thing happen to me. The Chevy dealer was nearby and I went there and they had a master set. I took off the locks and bought another set (4 nuts + key) for about $20. You can order another key for about $10.
