Off-board device?
I am reading through my factory service manual preparing to go through the diagnostic tree to narrow down a recurring trouble code and in the very first step I am stumped.
1. Ignition off
2. Install off-board device (what in the world is an off-board device?)
3. Ignition on
4. Attempt to establish communications with the EBCM; can you communicate with it? (Not sure how to attempt that but the off-board device needs to be addressed first)
Any insight would be helpful.
