I have been thinking of doing one of these.
With a hopped up LS 5.3 the plates would read "LS327"

You know, I wonder why we can't get this kind of support for the C4.

They can shoehorn an LS series motor into anything but you're right about the lack of support for the C4. Even the C1,C2, and C3 guys get in on the swap action but if I had a dollar for everytime I read on here "Just buy a C5/C6" when a C4 owner asked about info on an LS swap. Red headed stepchild forever.

Seriously. I'm putting an LS2 in mine. I just came back to the forum from internet land to post a thread about some adapter plates I found and to see if anybody on here had used them before. Most of the information I've found has been fairly piecemeal. A forum thread here, or a forum thread there, a few sites that have parts for the swap, but not much detailed information, and almost everything I found not *quite* exactly what I'm doing. It seems like an LSX engine with an auto is more popular than the T56. I've seen where a few guys put T56's in there, but they all seem to be something fairly radical with the interior. I want mine to look stock as much as possible with the shifter in the original position, and the original early C4 dash. Anyhow, much of what I've seen in regards to this swap seems to be a bit of an afterthought when it comes to the C4's. I plan on taking many, many pictures and I will share everything I can think of with anybody that wants to know, the good, the bad, and even the ugly. This LS2 and T56 are going in no matter what.

I have been thinking about it also there is a Short block that that is a LS1 but will bolt right in.

If I do the swap this is the way I will most likely go.

It sounds expensive but when you think about how easy it makes it and the quality it makes sense. I'm sure other people will disagree but I'm tired of doing it the hard way.

You need to learn how to search!!!

There must be atleast 10-15 threads on doing the swap, with all the details you need.

Stop whinning and start doing.

I got a 3.07 from fc_soldier on the way then i will be set for a while.

I traded in the Miata a few months (got the wife a Jeep Renegade) back but I miss it I wan't to buy another and do the swap. Right now My dd is a 91 S15 Jimmy with a new motor in it and cold A/c.

I've owned 3 miata's, I swapped a 60 degree v6 with a turbo into one of them. did a mp62 supercharger on another- and on the final miata I owned I was too broke to do anything extensive! lol... I really wanted to do the Ls-x or Ford 5.0 miata swap.

the Ls-x is heavily supported by

www.flyinmiata.com

the 5.0L ford swap is supported by

www.monstermiata.com

since the aftermarket has come to realize the potential of the Ls-x engines, it's crazy to think what a potent Ls-x can do inside a 2,300lb car!

there is HUGE support for miata's BTW. Much more so than c4's (oddly enough). everything from cages, to tubular control arms, etc.

the engine swaps are more like "drivetrain" swaps... transmissions (t56) and even cobra 8.8" independent rear-ends (or 7.5" rear-ends).

This is the Miata I traded in. When I bought it I was going to use it as DD until it had too many miles on it then do the swap, it was in excellent condition and would have made a nice Monster Miata but the wife needed a VEH and I had 3, 2 of them 2 seaters. One of the two seaters had to go. I still plan on doing the swap I might get a first gen Mita because they are cheaper.
