Default LSX Adapter Plate LS1001

Has anybody used this adapter plate to mount an LSX in their early C4? I'm doing an LS2 + T56 swap into my '86 and I'm trying to get a jumpstart on figuring out the adapter plates I will need. I'd like to have as many of the parts I believe I'm going to need on hand when I pull the L98 and 4+3 tranny out. The LS2 I'm using is out of a '06 GTO, so it has the front sump oil pan which I know I"ll need to change. I've seen different threads where people are putting in LSX engines in their C4's, but not much in the way of specifics on the engine mounts. Either that or I missed it somehow.

Anyways, I do intend to keep the AC so I understand that's gonna be an issue. My LS2 is out of a GTO, but I bought the Corvette style accessories to keep everything up and out of the way of the frame. Like I said before, I will be going to the T56 transmission and I understand that's a bit longer than the Doug Nash 4+3 tranny in it now which will put the shifter in a different location. I believe I can adjust for this with an aftermarket shifter from what I've been able to find. Below is a pic of the adapter plates I found from Vetteworks. Has anybody used these adapter plates and have an idea of how they'll work for me or do you know of another set you could recommend? Thanks.

Hmmm, I guess I'm not smart enough to figure out how to insert a picture, so here's a link. Thanks again.

i used these in my 89l98/02ls1 swap c4 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TRD-4595/

i was happy where it placed the motor and the ease of bolting it in. as far as the t56 fitting, its pretty rough, i dont know what year your car is, or if the trans tunnel is differant from my 89, but i did have to remove a decent bit of material from the shifter location. a aftermarket shifter wont make things any better. my t56 allready had a pro 5.0 on it, and i ended up cutting it down, and making a sideways spacerplate to bring the shifter back to the location of the trim plate inside the car. if you dont care about shifter in the console, then all is well. also keep in mind the c4 clutch master will not work with the t56 internal slave cylinders.

Didn't realize that, thanks for the info. Thanks for the link too. I did some more searching, found some more info from a post on another thread (thanks Ch@Os), and have a link for another set of adapters. These are from a place called Speed Hound.

Seems like there are a lot to choose from? I'm not sure what the differences are or the advantages of using one over another.

I have been thinking about it also, there is a Short block that World products sells that is an LS1 but will bolt right in.

If I do sthe swap this is the way I will most likely go.

When it first came out the price was $1400 now it jumped up to $2000 IDK
