Automatic shift **** removal
Well, I have another opportunity tommorow to losen my console so I can make the final connections to the last speakers.
Last time, I couldn't figure out how to remove it. I need to take the whole console cover off to clean under it. So any suggestions? Is there a set screw somewhere?
Lift/pull the button out and theres a Snap ring or C clip in there on the shaft that needs to be removed. Then it slides right off.
You may need the tool for the snap ring or C clip.I use snap ring pliers to push the clip apart and lift out.
:)
The job is easier if you have snap ring pliers, Sears has them for about $10.
If you are really good, you might be able to get it out with a screwdriver, but it won't be easy.
