Default Tach reading high

My tach is reading high throughout the range, it is not erratic. I have heard in some other threads that it could be the tach filter. I have a 91 L98 automatic trans. My question is where is the tach filter and how do I get to it?

Thanks, Stu.

Sounds like a tach filter to me. My 91 did the same thing. Your going to have issues finding a tach filter for a 91. For some reason they skip 91 in all the catalogs (did last year when I was looking anyway)
You want to use the one for the 90 model not the 92 model.

The tach filter is located on the top of the bell housing on the passenger side If i remember correctly.
It is attached with one of the transmission bolts. It hardly looks like anything important. and the new one will be larger. I believe I paint $29.99 for mine from MAmotorworks.

Good luck!
