I'm installing LPE headers on the '84, 1 5/8 full length into 2.5".
1.I'm wondering what I have to do for the accessory braces on either side of the motor that mount on the header studs?
2. What should I use for the rest of the exhaust. I don't plan on running cats, so I figured I'd use a catback and have a shop run the pipes from the headers to the catback setup, BUT no one specifically makes an early C4 catback kit. Will a B&B or Corsa system for an LT1 mostly work? I'm installin the headers myself, so I figure an exhaust shop could figure the rest out.
What kinda setups are you early C4 guys running?
Re: Full length 1 5/8" headers on '84 (korvetkeith)
You will have to modify the braces that support your alternator and a/c compressor. They will have to be cut and rewelded with an extension inserted. Borla makes a cat back for C4's or get the dyno max rear y pipe and the mufflers you like. I have the stainless steel targa mufflers from MAD on my 84. Or your muffler shop can run true duals for you if you are not installing a cat. Thats one incredibley awesome '84 you got there! Who knew a crossfire can be supercharged. I'm curious, have you even been to the track with this beast? What did it run?
