im getting ready to rebuild my motor and do a 383 stroker kit...i have a 350 lt1...im haveing trouble finding the kit for a good price..any idea where i should look?
Which kit?...LT1s use the same one piece rear main seal SBC rotating assembly as the L98s and othe late SBCs.
So you just need to look for an assembly with a 3.75" stroke crank with suitable rods and pistons (usually 4.030) for your desired usage and price point.
Cast/forged US/Chinese 6.0" rods, 5.7" the brand name of the components etc .... all have a great bearing on the price .....
These is no such thing as a single manufacturer making all of the components in a stroker "kit".
A stroker kit is a bunch of individual parts placed in 1 big box, and called a kit.
Buy the parts you like, and assemble them.
2pc seal, used rods, cast crank, cast pistons and its not balanced.....however, if you want it for your car order it with the 1 piece rms and write off the gasket since set won't work on your block and be sure to pay for a decent balance job. Just remember Fast, Reliable, Inexpensive .....Choose two....

It depends if your looking for quality or not!! We have ben using the Callies Compstar rotators with the Mahle piston and ring kits and ACL bearings and we do our own balancing. For the money they seem to the best kits.
And like any kit every thing needs to be fitted as I have not seen any kit that is ready to assemble like the salesmen say they are.
We balance for a lot of shops and we have seen some substandard cranks as far as sizing of the journals straightness ETC.
What ever you buy it should be check out by a reputable shop that has all the proper tools.
I must surf and type too slow Pete's post wasn't there when checked the link and then I wrote my response.......and same with the blockman's compstar post on callies!
As already mentioned Lunatti makes a nice kit so does Callies Compstar....
You might want to check this site out for Carolina Machine engines. They built my 383 stroker and did an excellent job at a VERY reasonable price. The build took less than 2 weeks and it fired right up when installed.

You are in luck. There are more parts and pieces for a small block chevy than there are trees in the forest.
haha thats true but finding those parts at a good price is the hard part... some places carry kits that have must all the things you need in it and you just find the rest of the parts at other places...im trying to find the kit for a good price
Parts are cheaper than ever remember when you wanted a new forged crank you would pay the local dealer 7-800 there was no scat eagle etc. Either that or a regrind
thats true....im looking for good quality but i dont wanta buy the best and spend 4,000....the owner of the garage i help out with found this and showed it too me
