Well it finally happened --

Well it finally happened --
The threads are stripped out in the front left ( driver side ) hatch
I'm not to keen too drive around with only 3 tight
Best ideas
I did a search - nothing
PS - And I posted in the wrong place

Any guess for the bolt size? I show 20 threads per inch
And of course being a "84"
I cant just pop-in a new plate

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what the "hatch" is.
Have you considered time-serts? They are like helicoils, only solid.

I went to Manny / Mo and Jacks and found the OEM brand "Fix-A-Thread" $29.99
Not to bad.
Drilled out the old threads with the recomended 21/64ths bit
Cut the new threads with the supplied tap
The incert went in ez-er than I thought it should
I didn't use any loctite ?
But the bolt holds nice and tight
I'm so happy now

The nice thing about a heli-coil is that they can be unwound, and replaced, if they get screwed up. Never had that happen though. They are a rock solid repair.
