Im just wondering, because I am new to this and dont know. If I have Crane Gold rockers installed and one needs replaced and I replace it with a COMP rocker of the same design made from the same material does it matter?
Heck, even if the rocker arm ratios are different there wouldn't be a problem. Many use split ratio rocker sets and they're even offered as a kit.
Using aluminum and steel rocker arms on the same engine won't normally cause a problem either UNLESS you're running some really HIGH PRESSURE valve springs. Aluminum rockers are often rated as to how much spring pressure they can safely handle. Some of the cheaper aluminum RAs can only handle 350#, so those would present a problem in many applications. Other than that you'll be good to go.
I bought some cheapskate Chinese roller rockers from http://www.prw-usa.com/index.html and had no problems what so ever. And yes they will sell you one at a time.
Thanks to all of you who replied, I feel a litle better about the change now. All the minor repairs will be done with the installation of this rocker and I will finally be able to see what this car can do--thanks again
