My Custom Exhaust Build
Hey guys,
I forgot to create a writeup after finishing my system, so here it is lol.
With a tight budget, max efficiency, and longevity on my mind, I set out to build something that met my every need. Seeing that the stock system was 2.75", I saw no need to replace it. What I did was go from device to device, freeing things up wherever possible. I replaced the center res with a 2.75" x pipe and replaced the stock mufflers with 3" powersticks, eliminating all bottlenecks in my system. The end result? The lightest, least restrictive, perfectly tuned, best sounding, longest lasting, and most cost effective system out there. The weight savings were considerable. Although it isn't the prettiest looking piece of steel, it gets the job done, and it does it well. This is how a vette should sound from the factory. I highly recommend this setup to anyone interested in making some serious power later down the road. Total cost: ~$350 (installed and everything)

And here are 3 videos showing the progression of my build

Let me know what you think!

It does look light. Hope you don't have to smog the thing.

Haha thanks man, I hadn't washed her in weeks
Yeah I shaved a ton of weight off going this route. I don't see why I wouldn't pass smog, I still have my stock cats and headers. It won't be that way for long though

Nice Write-up! Sounds Really Good! The videos do a good job showing the difference between each stage of your exhaust build. That last video is a really good one for hearing the exhaust at different speeds and gears from the outside and inside of the car!!!!

This may seem crazy, but your exhaust inspired me to do what I did with mine

I got mine for like $75 from a guy on here. It's 2.75" ID tubing and will require some bending (notice the cuts and welds in the middle of the pipe )
Depends how hard I'm on the gas
It's tolerable
2.75" piping
lol
3020SB. BUY THEM!
