Default Next performance upgrade - TB or Gears?

Ok, so i've got alot of goodies on my 1/8 mile track car now, i'll list them below to keep it clear. I'm just wondering if I should get a 52 mm throttle body or different gears first, and which gears? It has whatever a 1986 has in it now.

Stock throtle body
Headers and ANSA Exhaust
Breathless Performance Vortex Ram Air
NOS throttle body plate, 80 shot of nitrous
Built three speed 350 race transmission, PTC 3000 stall
Hoosier drag radials

with this, im guessing around 380 hp...so what gears should I get, and remember I rarely drive this on the road.

Thanks!!

Gears. For an 1/8 mile track only I would go 3.73 gears.

Of the two maybe gears in a D44, I think the money should be spent elsewhere on the motor though.

i've never opened up the motor...she's still running strong with 110k+ on it and spraying it every weekend. It's best time is 8.0020 in the 8th mile

I run 7.8's with a lot less hp if you have 380.

What is your 60'?

I'm with Vader, more engine work would be money better spent. Can't see how a bigger tb is going to help any at all on a basically stock engine.

bigger tb with stock TPI intake is waste of $$$$

I don't understand how the 380 horsepower guestimate

1986 L98 is rated at 230hp

230 hp + 80 shot = 380

If it were mine and it was a dedicated track car and money was tight I'd go for a bigger shot while I was saving for heads, cam, intake and a forged lower end.....and gears with drag radials....\

I was told I can't go over a 100 shot without retarding the timing. It currently has Hoosier drag radials on it now.

I could buy an entire new engine if I wanted, but im saving for a c6 at the moment.

You have or have not ported or modified the intake manifold?
