I bought a 355 from a guy not to long ago and just this weekend got it torn apart. The pistons say .040 on them. Is this a stock piston ? Or do I have to measure the actual bore to find out...
The engine had a broken pushrod and I tore it apart to inspect. I don't plan on using much of it. One of the cylinders had a just noticable to touch imperfection. Whats the best route going forward...Just some background..I was looking to use the block, crank, pistons...as is and put a new cam and heads on it.

Reason: spelling

Let a machine shop decide that for you. Maybe a sleeve is in order.
Not necessarily. I called for 2-3 days looking for the best price. I had to settle for $250. (for a 4-bolt though)
$150 for a 2-bolt was what I found.
craigslst and old time type junkyards.
$50 as is shortblocks
look them over, buy 'em, take them home, strip them
the 385 in our Baja came as an assembled shortblock with pan from CL for $50, I bought it over the other choices cause the guy said he would load it on a pallet with his forklift.
