Default anti lock light in rain

I have a 1988 with 160,000 miles. Car run great. The anti lock brakes work fine mormally but when it rains after driving for a hour or so something must get shorted and the light comes on. Could this be a sensor at the wheel? I have a diacom but don't have the software to diagnos the anti lock system. Anyone had this happen to them? How ironic, in the dry they work ok but in the wet when you would need them the system goes down.

Maybe the light just means that the ABS is being activated because of the wet conditions.

no, the light means they aren't working properly someway or another.

That is going to be hard to diagnose. GM dealers (the good ones) have a tester that exercises the ABS system and will tell you what component is defective. The car must be raised and each wheel spun by hand on command of the tester. It found my defective rear wheel sensor.
