Well I did have an LS6 to put in my car but before I started the actual install, I had changed my mind. It was going to be too expensive I already had $3000 in engine and it was going to be about $6-7000 more. So I sold it on craigslist.
Since then I went ahead and purchased a TPIS Miniram with the Fuel Rail kit, 24lbs injectors and Custom burned chip. The install was pretty much straight forward, took quit a bit extra time getting the vacuum lines, coolant hose and the wireing set in there nice and clean.
I have an 86 with the 4+3 and I am very pleased with how this set-up turned out. It was expensive right at $2000 for all the parts with fuel gauge and a few other pieces. But the power band is smooth and pulls evenly from idle to around 5200 ( I do not trust spinning any higher yet). I am very happy with the recent upgrades and definately reccomend the Miniram upgrade, plus it can grow with engine as I add more to it as time and money allows. My corvette seams so much happier and since all the torque and power is not just in the lower powerband it should be great for autocrossing.
These Vettes just respond so well to mods. No matter how you want to drive your car you can always find a killer way to pinpoint the exact way you want it to run.
Intake update, I love it, really woke it up. Driveability and power has been improved. Have not spun it past 5500. I cannot wait until winter when I do heads, cam and exhaust.(depending on finances of course). But for now I am very happy!!!!
I did not upload a pic but have it on my avatar, need a better picture.
I have a MR on my 406 and I shift at 6500. Big cam, AFR 195s, great intake. Tony Mamo hogged one out for Jim Barth, it flowed over 400.
Yeah... Tony actually got 410cfm out of mine on the best port and 400 on the lowest one. That will keep up with about any SBC head you can throw at it. And they work awesome on big cube SBC's

A friend of mine, Steve Richards, had his done by Bob Jones ((formerly of Extrude Hone) do his. He achieved over 400 cfm too and by cutting open the Mini-Ram was able to eliminate all the turbulence.
