The drivers side header went in perfect. However, on the passenger side I am having trouble gettting the header on with the oil dipstick tube in the way. How do I get the dip stick tube off?
You might want to shoot some PB Blaster around the tube where it enters the block and let it sit for a couple hours. Pretty easy for these tubes to get corroded and they will snap off.
I read on here that one guy found a bolt that fit into the top dipstick hole fairly tight , then took a set of vice grips and held the tube and bolt tight while tapping up on the bottom of the vice grips with a hammer...Sounds like it would work without smashing the tube..WW
Trust me, be glad that it didnt break off. Had to pull the pan to get the rest of the tube out. Damn that sucker is long. Mine was already cracked at the base and as soon as I twisted it snapped. At least I got to see that my pan was clean and the bottom end was pretty.
Did you get the headers with or without cats? Do you plan to tune the car now?
I took the factory cats out for the install. And I am unsure what I plan to do about cats. As for a tune. I hear the car will run just fine without. I will be sure to let you all know this weekend.
