Default Had the C4 serviced and

I had my '94 on a lift yesterday and the bottom of the engine was covered with a film of oil. The mech thought that it was coming from the front seal. Is this a hard thing ($) to replace? Where else could it be leaking from the front? Thanks

Removing the front of the engine, opti, hub, timing cover and oil pan. Replacing all seals along the way. Unless it is a lot of oil it isn't worth the hassle. I know oil leaks suck, but unless you are doing other maintenance, let this one go until something else comes along that requires most of the front off anyway....like opti swap. .02

When I had the problem resolved on my old '92 we just removed the water pump, opti, harmonic balancer and hub. We were then able to remove the old seal and put a new one it. As I recall we used one of the tools that has a claw on one side.

Thanks. I'll wait until it gets worse. Less than a quart in 5000 miles. I'll keep a closer eye on the dip stick, though.
