96 Ball joint greasing

96 Ball joint greasing
First car for me in many years with serviceable ball joints so excuse me if these questions are a bit dumbs ***.
1) Should i grease till it starts coming out of the joint or just pump it a couple of times? I gave them about three pumps and stopped when I started to feel pressure. Can the seals on C4 joints blow?
2) Do these joints require a specific type of grease?
