Default Pitted cam lobes
Started putting the short block back together and notice I had several lobes on the camshaft surface were pitted. Seems that the harden surface is chipping off, what would cause. I presume this bump stick is now a paper weight Didn't budget for this...

Is it a Comp Cams' cam? A few years ago they had issues with camshafts not being hardened properly.

Yes it is, installed it probably 5yrs ago. Did comp cams issue anything on the material failures?
