Clutch Fork Question
Examining the clutch fork in my car I noticed that the "spring clip" The sheet metal that is tacked onto the body of the fork and goes over the ball stud is loose. It does not apply tension to the head of the ball stud. Is this normal?

NO. That is not normal. There should be some tension on the spring clip so that way the clutch fork keeps contact with the pivot ball. That way when you let off the clutch pedal it will maintain its position. Try bending the clip back or just get a used one of fleabay.
