Headed to work this morning and my coolant light came on for a minute. So when I got to work I popped the hood and my upper tank where the radiator cap is it's linking just a little. It looks cracked around the top hose on the tank itself. Then my over flow tank, on the passenger side, looks like it's spitting out fluid.
Does it sound like the cap is bad, and could have made the upper tank crack. Cause I know if the cap is bad it would flow right causing it to over flow out the over flow tank at the bottom.
Sounds like you do have a crack or a bad pressure cap. If the system dosn't pressurize the coolant in the overflow tank will not flow back into the engine when it cools. The low coolant light will come on if you get air in the system.
Does the crack go all the way through the black plastic and the metal? Ecklers sell the tanks for $49.99. 92-96 Tank,Rad Surge(high fill) PN#39080. I'm pretty sure this is the right part, I've never had to order one. This is out of the Spring/Summer catalog pg.336.
Thanks, I think that's it....
Well when I went to lunch the light would come on when I hit the brakes or took a turn. But when I hit the gas the light would go off. Then after a few minutes it would go off for good. It's only when I first get in the car and drive it.
