Default Testing fuel injectors

I have an extra set of fuel injectors that I was gonna send out for rebuilding/flowtesting. I have read alot about testing injectors with ohm meters, but don't know what the acceptable range is. The extra ones ( I think they are LT1 injectors, anyone know how to ID from numbers?) cold measured 12.3 ohms across the poles. The ones in the car (pretty darn warm , but not quite operating temp, the car had been sitting for about 20 mins) were between 17.5 and 17.7 ohms. Is this good or bad? I suspect that the ones in the are leaky due to hard hot starts. Any input would be very appreciated. If you have any convertible weatherstripping please look here.

The resistance numbers look fine. Leaks might be caused by dirt or wear. Injectors do wear out so I am in favor of throwing them out if they have a lot of miles on them. Rebuilding does not include the internal parts.

I agree with Aqua Mettalic I sent my injectors to Ligenfelter to be reconditioned, they were fine when I sent them , got them back, one is bad . Now I have to buy one to replace the bad one. Should have bought new ones from the get go , well I always learn the hard way good luck Jim.

OK, good topic here. I was told a while back ago that a couple of my injectors were going bad (resistance test) but I wasn't too sure if the guy knew what he was talking about. How do I test my injectors? Do I have to remove them or can I do it with them still on? I need specifics, as I've never messed with injectors before. Are they easy to replace? Is it a novice job?
And lastly, where can I find a good deal for the whole set. I've heard of some none OEM ones that have a different .lb What .lb is better to have?
Thanks

I think you have to measure the Q its an electronic term for the proper resistanceof the injector ,from what I'm told a regular ohm meter won't give you the full picture. The injectors are easy to get out, push the clips in to be able to remove the electric connectors from each injector then unscrew the gas cap to relieve the pressure, the there is a schrader valve on the passenger side fuel rail ,put a small container under that and relieve pressure ,you'll get a couple of drops. Tkae out the four colts that hold the fuel rail on ,then pull up on the fuel rail the injectors will come out of the manifold, as you have them up you will see the C clips that hold the injector the the rail push the clip out of the way , you can them pull the injector out of the fuel rail .. Put a small container under the injector as some gas will come out when you remove it. Good luck Jim
