Get some quotes on powder coating you won't regret it. I paid 35.00 a caliper. Go on you tube and link up to a video that shows you how to remove the piston from the caliper, you are going to have to remove it if you're going that route..
I plan to paint my calipers. I assume sand blasting is best? That's not an option for me. Any recommendations?
Are you removing them from the car ?
You can wire brush them if they are staying on car. I would recommend at least removing them from the rotor and hanging them from wheel well to paint. I used fire red rust-oleum and a small brush to do mine.

I did the same as lil Mike but did do some work with a stiff brush. To answer Floridamale, no I did not do the hats but wish I had. Rusty hats are an eyesore in what would otherwise be a neat looking wheel well.
DupliColor's kit comes with instructions and all the materials you need. I used a kit to do mine, including the hats with the calipers in place. I chose the brush on version instead of the spray.

Also helps to thin the paint with just a little thinner, goes on much smoother using a brush.

Thought I'd rebuild as well. I viewed that video you referenced before I posted this thread. Thanks

I'll take them off, rebuild, paint, new pads/rotors. Might as well do it right. Nice way to spend a Saturday sfternoon.
